Biography
Kun Wang obtained his Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 2025. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2024. Since September 2025, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
His current research interests lie in the field of guidance and control of autonomous vehicles, including optimal control, trajectory optimization, trajectory shaping guidance, and safety-critical control, as well as their integration with machine learning techniques. The goal of his research is to develop efficient, robust, and safe algorithms for autonomous vehicles. He serves as a reviewer for several leading journals in aerospace and control, such as Automatica, AIAA Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, and IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems. He is also a member of the Young Editorial Board of IET Cyber-Systems and Robotics.
