Aerospace Engineering Department Excels at 24th Intercampus Race

On 10 March, the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) participated in the XXIV Intercampus Race.

This annual event, designed to promote physical activity and sportsmanship, saw the enthusiastic participation of both researchers and students from the department. Notable achievements were made in several categories.

Stefano Discetti distinguished himself by taking first place in the PDI/PAS 5 km category, Maria Cerezo achieved second place in the women’s PDI/PAS 10 km category, Andrea Ianiro came eighth in the men’s PDI/PAS 10 km category, and Matteo Ripoli, a PhD student, won first place in the PDI/PAS 5 km category for under 34s.

The race, which comprised a 10 km asphalt course from the Leganés campus to the Getafe campus, also had an important philanthropic element. Through “Operation Kilo-Intercampus”, food was collected in collaboration with the Madrid Food Bank.
