ST3LLAR awards ceremony 2023

On Monday 4th December of 2023, the 3rd edition of the ST3LLAR Awards took place at the Aula de Grados of UC3M in Leganés (Madrid).

ST3LLAR is the joint UC3M and SENER Aeroespacial Chair and as part of its educational activities it organizes the ST3LLAR awards jointly with the Fundación SENER.

The awards recognize the excellence in research, scientific, and/or technical quality of UC3M’s Final Thesis Projects (TFE) at undergraduate or master level when carried out in a subject of interest for ST3LLAR and supervised by one of its group members. The awards also recognize group work resulting from the “Spacecraft Pre-design” course of the Master in Space Engineering (MISE).

The awards committee was formed by Mrs. Rosana Madroñal (director of the Fundación SENER), Mrs. Mercedes Ruiz (head of systems, navigation and control at SENER Aeroespacial), and UC3M professors Javier Fernández Muñoz (Computer Science and Engineering dept.) and Andrés Marcos (Aerospace Engineering dept. and ST3LLAR’s director).

The following prizes were awarded:

TFE prizes:

1st prize: Alberto Jesús Nogueras Cano (tutor: prof. Jaume Navarro Cavallé)

2nd prize: Borja Bayón Bujan (tutor: prof. Mario Merino)

3rd prize: Alnira Mei Causing (tutor: prof. Antonio Acosta)

Honorable mention: Antonio Montero Barriga (tutor: prof. Jaume Navarro Cavallé)

Team-design prizes:

1st prize: ALPHA team (Lourdes Lobera Peláez-Campomanes, Jaime Ruiz Pardos, María Rodríguez Villar, Fernando Solano Almena, Miguel Alonso Belién, Antonio Hernández-Rodicio, Brais García García, Miguel Leiva Velez, Adrián Calleja Vázquez)
