Teaching Innovation Projects of Aerospace Engineering Department get accepted via the “21ª CONVOCATORIA DE APOYO A EXPERIENCIAS DE INNOVACIÓN DOCENTE”
27 JulThree innovative teaching projects of the Aerospace Engineering Department got accepted for the next academic year 2023-2024 as part of the call “21ª CONVOCATORIA DE APOYO A EXPERIENCIAS DE INNOVACIÓN DOCENTE”
The general objective of this call is to encourage the implementation of activities and projects that lead to improve the learning of our students and the way of teaching of our teachers within the new teaching model, and that are executed in any of the subjects taught in the official undergraduate or graduate degrees of UC3M, throughout the academic year 2023-2024.
The successful projects are:
” ESCAPE ROOM DE AERODINÁMICA EXPERIMENTAL” by S. Discetti
Team members: S. Discetti, A. Ianiro, M. Raiola
The project aims to exploit gamification to increase the engagement of students in the laboratory practices of the Experimental Aerodynamics course of the Master in Aeronautical Engineering. The student will be assigned tasks of calibration and measurement, whose outcome will provide a “combination” to win the escape room.
” SIMULACIONES CON MOTORES DE AVIACIÓN DE LOS TIPOS TURBORREACTOR Y TURBOFÁN”, by A. Cuéllar
Team members: A. Cuéllar, A. Ianiro, L. Marra
With this project, students of the course Aerospace Propulsion I will have practical sessions with the software PROOSIS to study and analyse the aeroengines covered in the lectures of the course, such as turbojets and turbofans. The software PROOSIS would provide the students a better understanding of the design and performance of these engines.
“RECLUTADO A GITHUB COPILOT COMO AYUDANTE PARA EL DESARROLLO ÁGIL EN ASTRODINÁMICA” by M. Merino
This teaching innovation action aims to consider the Microsoft Copilot AI as an assistant in scientific programming tasks, as an additional tool in the arsenal of the aerospace engineer. Students will learn how to use it efficiently, and where, and where not. Part of the focus will be on the critical use of this new technology and its ethical and practical implications, and on hearing back from the students their thoughts on this tool.
