Biography

gnacio Andreu Angulo holds a Bachelor´s from the University of Maryland and a Master´s from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his thesis focused on dynamic stall analysis applied to 3D rotors. He earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge, under the supervision of Prof. Holger Babinsky. Ignacio´s dissertation on wing-gust interactions and mitigation combines unsteady aerodynamics theory with experimental validation.

Following his PhD, Ignacio worked as a fluid dynamics engineer for Emirates Team New Zealand, contributing to the design of the yacht’s foils and rudder using CFD—an effort that helped secure victory in the America’s Cup.

Currently, he is involved in a national research project and has served as the principal investigator for an industry contract. His research focuses on unsteady aerodynamics and flow control, with applications in gust mitigation, wings, wind turbines, and the maritime industry
