Three Research Assistant Positions Open at the Department of Aerospace Engineering

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) has been awarded three Research Assistant positions under the 2025 Programa de Jóvenes Investigadores funded by the Comunidad de Madrid (CAM).

These one-year positions are open to EU citizens or legal residents aged between 16 and 30 years old, and offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge aerospace research environments.

The selected candidates will support the assembly, operation, and testing of the department’s new experimental infrastructures, contributing directly to its main research lines and technological developments.


Open Positions

1. Ref: C/2025/480 – Supervisor: Prof. Andrés Marcos
Work at the Center for Space Technology and Nano/Micro-Satellites (CSAT) on verification and validation of control and attitude determination systems for satellites. Activities will involve operating state-of-the-art equipment such as a 2.5 m Helmholtz cage, low-friction tables, and a GNSS simulator, as well as supporting PCB design and testing for satellite subsystems.

2. Ref: C/2025/481 – Supervisor: Prof. Stefano Discetti
Contribute to the setup and operation of the department’s new Subsonic Wind Tunnel, supporting instrumentation and testing for UAVs and airborne wind energy technologies.

3. Ref: C/2025/482 – Supervisor: Prof. Jaume Navarro-Cavallé
Participate in Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) activities for plasma thrusters, working within the new Vacuum Chamber facilities and assisting with advanced plasma diagnostics.
