FPU 2024 Doctoral Scholarships – Call for Applications

The Ministry of Universities has opened applications for the FPU 2024 doctoral scholarships, aimed at supporting advanced research and university teaching training.

Eligibility Criteria
National and international candidates with strong academic records (bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees) and a GPA of ~80% or higher are encouraged to apply.

Program Overview
These scholarships fund pre-doctoral contracts for the completion of doctoral theses at Spanish universities. The program is designed to:

• Facilitate the attainment of a Doctorate degree.
• Develop teaching and research skills applicable to any scientific field.
• Support integration into Spain’s higher education and research systems.

Key Benefits

• Four-year pre-doctoral contracts (extendable to six years for applicants with disabilities).
• Optional Postdoctoral Orientation Period (POP) for recipients who complete their doctorates before the final year of funding.
• Financial support for significant research stays abroad (or in Spain under exceptional circumstances), contributing to both predoctoral training and postdoctoral specialization.

Application Deadline
Applications will be accepted from January 17, 2025, to February 14, 2025.

Important Notes

• Candidates who have already received a grant for more than 24 months or have benefited from previous FPU awards are not eligible.
