Dr. Ignacio Andreu Receives Prestigious Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship

8 Apr

The Aerospace Engineering Department at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is proud to announce that Dr. Ignacio Andreu has been awarded a highly competitive Juan de la Cierva Formación fellowship. Funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, this prestigious grant supports early-career researchers in their postdoctoral training and fosters the integration of talented scientists into leading Spanish R&D institutions.

Dr. Andreu’s research will focus on the experimental and theoretical analysis of the aerodynamics governing the flight of small aerial vehicles, such as drones. In particular, the project will investigate the complex behavior of rapidly moving wings, like those found in quadcopters, and their interactions with wind gusts.

The Aerospace Engineering Department at UC3M warmly congratulates Dr. Ignacio Andreu on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to the scientific contributions his research will bring to the field of aerodynamics.
