UC3M ST3LLARsat1 BOIRA just came back from presenting at the SSSIF’24 in Málaga
1 MarSix of our ST3LLARsat1 team just came back from the 5 th edition of the Small Satellites & Services International Forum (SSSIF’24) in Málaga, which took place from the 20 th to 22 nd February, see photos below (poster photos courtesy of SSSIF’s photographer).
They gave a talk on our progress entitled ST3LLARsat1 BOIRA: from BDR to FDR, a successful university hand-over iteration”, presented by our CubeSat director prof. A. Marcos in the name of the phase II team, and also showcased our work with posters prepared by four of our subsystem teams, presented by the corresponding student leaders:
– Mission Analysis of the ST3LLAR-sat1 “BOIRA” 2U CubeSat: from BDR to FDR, Fernando Solano.
– ST3LLARsat1 “BOIRA”: Design and verification of the Electrical Power System, Daniel Jiménez.
– ST3LLAR-sat1 “BOIRA”: OBC development by integrating On-Board Data Handling and Communications, Antonio Hernández-Rodicio.
– ST3LLARsat1 “BOIRA” CubeSat: Structural analysis and selection, María Rodríguez.
The ST3LLARsat1 team had a fruitful experience at SSSIF’24, interacting with representatives from NASA and ESA, as well as engaging with industry professionals (and brought back some goodies from the event). They were also able to connect with other university CubeSat teams exchanging knowledge and insights.
Currently, ST3LLARsat1 is participated by 35 MISE graduate students and led by Prof. Andrés Marcos (Beatriz Galindo Senior Distinguished Researcher) supported by Dr. Diego Navarro-Tapia (codirector of MA, ADCS, OBDH&C, and SW teams), prof. Gabriele Dessena (codirector of STR, PAY, THRM and EPS) and Dr. Andoni Moral (INTA, AIV manager of ST3LLAR). ST3LLARsat is financially supported by the UC3M-SENER aerospace chair ST3LLAR, the aerospace department at UC3M, and Prof. Marcos’ Beatriz Galindo awards (from the Spanish Ministry of Science and from the Comunidad de Madrid).
